Where to start with Venice… It is, hands down, one of the most charming places I have ever visited. I would have to say the only other place that rivaled its charm would be Orvieto (coming soon). Everything in the city is timeless you could easily get lost in its narrow alleys for hours and still never see all of the beauty it has to offer. It was as if my head was in the clouds the entire time I was there, the architecture alone is enough to bewitch you. I actually got a kink in my neck from staring up at everything for so long. My only complaint of the day was the heat, I ended up getting heat stroke walking around in the sun for so long. Venice holds so many places that are obvious musts: St. Mark’s Basilica, the Rialto Bridge, Piazza San Marco, and the Grand Canal to name a few. Still don’t let the touristy areas take over your day. The real treasures of Venice are hidden in the tiny alleyways and in the little shops where the hustle and bustle of tourists are hidden. Hopefully my next Venetian adventure will be in Autumn when they get around seven hours of pure sunshine a day but you don’t melt from it. Have any of you been to Venezia? Or places as unique?
